This was a brilliant trip. Linda, our tour guide, was marvellous. The goal was beautiful and in a good location. Staff there were lovely and very attentive, the room was excellent, though they could do with a shelf in the bathroom for toiletries, and the food was fabulous. It was an extra bonus having a gin Distillery in the hotel with the opportunity to buy and try. The trips out were good. It was disappointing not to get to Floors Castle but Abbotsford was good second choice. The afternoon tea there was a bit of a disappointment. Beef and horseradish.. coronation chicken... not something we would eat. The selection of cake was not very good, the little tart was chilli and goats cheese and not nice. This was meant to be a big part of the trip so it was disappointing. Trip to Bo'ness was brilliant but the trip to the Kelpies was, again, a disappointment. There was just no time to go and view them. You had barely 5 mins to get a quick pic before you had to go to get into Edinburgh. The Tattoo itself was fantastic. We had really good seats and the weather was kind. It was a very warm evening, we were so lucky. Overall, this was a good trip. A couple of disappointments but I would still recommend it. Maybe leave out the Kelpies though as you don't get enough time there. Maybe take people to the Amber Restaurant instead for a whisky tasting meal before the Tattoo. It is right by the Castle so easy to get in once you have eaten...
